Why is terran overpowered
I had to stop after hearing kyle say "how do you balance this there are a million different ways? If Terran was imbalanced we would have been streamrolling through this tournament waaaaaay many more times than we should which we evidentially haven't and still haven't won a GSL yet. Statistically every game won is more or less similar for all races with some percent off and Terran plays much differently from other races.
Terran is pretty great in the early game. And a unit called the baneling. Terran is the easiest race to use mostly because the campaign teaches you how to use them , but played correctly all the races are pretty much equal. Zerg are probably the worst, but that's just because they're the hardest to use. Watch Nestea whoop up on a Terran.
I don't think Terran are OP but that being said, he did make a few valid points. And the other guy just repeating "how do you balance??? MMM is so cost effective for the damage it can do, I've had a few games where i've spent most of the match killing army's and starving out the other player just to move up to his base and still get crushed somehow by a huge force and end up going "where the hell is he getting his money from??
Mmmm, got about 6 minutes in then couldn't listen any more. Terran actually has it the worst when they lose their entire army. Their units may be very cost effective in terms of DPS, but they also have the lowest health per cost compared to the other races making it significantly harder for them in smaller numbers.
They also have the strongest unit counters in the game, but that means that they suffer the most for having the wrong unit composition. And it's true that minerals worth of Hellions can ruin your day if you're not careful, but so can 16 Zerglings if you let them into your mineral line.
And yeah drops are scary but they're also risky. Plus the way Medivacs operate is so straightforward, I don't think there's much more to be explored in terms of strategies and the metagame. On the other hand, we've barely scratched the surface of what might be possible with Warp Prism and Nydus Worm play. Just go to an online unit tester, set all upgrades both sides, 45 corruptors vs 15 BC, and aclic your corruptors.
The results will speak for themselves. The fight will start with 30 Corruptors vs 15 BC, because 15 corruptors will be erased by Yamato.
Micro will not help, assuming both sides micro equally. Because BCs and corruptors have equal range, and corruptors actually have a higher lag time before shooting not to mention higher overkill , BCs actually have higher micro potential than Corruptors do. You could not any more wrong with how hilarious the corruptor slaughter looks. Terrans overpowered General Discussion.
Am i only one who have felling that terrans are overpowered atm? Their kit is insane. There is also no way to win vs thors unless you play infectors. However it is a known issue called overpopulation and SOE does not want to put any Hardlimits on a player choosing their faction. Although something needs to be done sometime soon as it is a slow cancer to the game.
Same with Vanu Us NC over here are a small rebelious population! Tesagi is real, everyone know it, i dont see any point of discussion here. Stork saying double proxy is countered by rax fe is all you need to know about the seriousness of the video. Nothing in the video is anything that hasn't been discussed to death ten years ago. Old players are beyond that and discuss how to get better instead. And yeah, the whole point of Starcraft is that the design is assymetric. This means that the races are good at different things.
And you might say "but the pros discuss it, and they are old players! And that's when they're drunk. Moved to blogs. Within the context of x sized, four player maps with a main base with 9 mineral fields and a single vespene gas, having a single entrance that leads to a natural expansion that also has vespene gas, with a reasonably narrow entrance of its own so that protoss can expand against the zerg race without getting butt-fucked, yes, terran is the most powerful race at professional level, although the extent of the imbalance is up for debate.
The standard maps that make up the bulk of most map pools have been friendly towards the terran race, and unfavourable for the protoss race in general. Deviating slightly from the current set-up to help the protoss race, usually results in zergs being useless, instead of the original intention of nerfing the edge the terran race has over the other two races, taking place.
Island maps, maps with extremely high mineral count, and maps with easily walled-in naturals makes the zerg race next to useless against the other two races, although these are the kind of things that help the protoss race.
From the current set-up, adding a mineral-only expansions inside the main base, like Andromeda, or reducing the starting position to three spots, with unfriendly features for the terran race like Aztec, prevents the terran race from being the most powerful race, but it's like picking your poison, having zerg or protoss domination, instead of the current terran imbalance, instead of making things more even.
It's a not perfect, but it's what most map makers have come to terms with. Is this a parody thread? Live Events OSC. Liquipedia Discussion. Live Streams StarCraft 2 mcanning Dragon AxAlicia Westballz BasetradeTV Blizzard YouTube.
