How does television negatively affect society

Viewers like children are harmed by the prevalence of violence in media. Therefore some control over the violence presented in the media would be a great idea; preventing particularly kids from growing up and imitating bad acts seen on TV.

This is why I believe as claimed by the cultivation theory that TV promotes a worldview that is inaccurate but that viewers assumes reflects real life. Therefore some viewers are affected by the Mean World Syndrome, the belief that the world is a more dangerous place then it truly is. They who watch too many cartoons are more likely to have addictive problems and they may grow up aggressive and eager to engage in violence. The children spend too much time in front of cartoons with their eyes fixed on a screen that leads to cartoon addiction and can concern the social life.

They will lose interest in all other activities of life when they get addicted to watching the cartoon and they not be considered about what all things happening around them. Mediated violence gives children a sense of accepted isolationism, away from reality and society as they do not understand it. So it goes due to otherwise productive time spent viewing violence. Children with media violence as such a strong influence have a good chance of taking on a life of crime or anything to be violently different and so children also start trusting the media violence to validate their negative and stereotypical behavior.

Even limiting exposure to the mediated violence and limit its…. For many years, there have been studies and articles that have proven television is harmful. Even though people love the violence in television, tv programs should reduce its violence and drug content because it influences kids more than it influences adults to make poor choices.

All the violence on television could cause your kids to be overweight and do inadequate in school. It is dumbing down our culture and turning everything into a buzzword or distractingly flashy event that takes away from the real story. Oversaturation of television and shoddy shows have a negative influence on society. In reality, Americans should reduce their hours spent in front of the television. Too many people get addicted to shows that provide no benefit to themselves other than pure entertainment.

Fortunately, quality television programs are available on some stations. I believe that TV has a negative influence on society. One way is with all the violence. I believe that our society is more violent because kids have grown up watching this violence on television and think that it is nothing.

Also very thin actresses give children the idea that their bodies have to be super thin in order to be beautiful. While TV was once an important method of communication, the internet has long since taken over for news and information distribution. TV is now an overused entertainment and a distraction from everything that is going on in the world. It also encourages a sedentary, isolated lifestyle which has negative health effects and reduces communication.

How is it possible that television has a negative influence on society? It influenced the way that people think about such important social issues as race, gender, and class. Television today has a lot of positive effects and influences on our society and our American culture.

Television gives us helpful information, various forms of education, and entertainment which are all a part of the positive effects that television has on our society.

Television is a fantastic educational tool. It broadens knowledge of different cultures, promotes tolerance and global understanding of international issues.
