Why peeta is awesome

You had a plaid dress and your hair…it was in two braids instead of one. My father pointed you out while we were waiting to line up. I wanted to marry her mother, but she ran off with a coal miner. Your hand shot right up in the air. She put you up on a stool and had you sing it for us. And I swear, every bird outside the windows fell silent. And right when your song ended, I knew -just like your mother- I was a goner. And the kindness and selflessness he exhibits is extraordinary.

First for Katniss and then for Haymitch. And then in the second movie when he hands Katniss that medallion, to remind herthat she needs to live? Even if it means his death?

It takes a special kind of person to be able to do that. As you know, she was the very first volunteer.

No one else in all of Panem chose to sacrifice themselves for their siblings, but she did. What I am trying to say is that Peeta is strong. Just in a different way to Katniss. Why am I pushing this point? But you know what? That could have been any of those tributes. If any one of them had fallen on their run to the Cornucopia, it would have been them who almost died. And Katniss, and therefore the audience, only knew about the forcefield because Katniss had had the signs pointed out to her by Nuts and Volts.

Then, because he almost died, Peeta was way more susceptible to that damn poison gas. It is actually more realistic that he would be the first to fall because of the trauma he had already experienced. I was actually impressed that he made it as far as he did. Everyone thinks that Katniss should end up with Gale in the end and I understand why. Those two are very similar people and grew up supporting each other throughout the hardships of Twelve. They understand each other. Peeta had a slightly more privileged upbringing, seeing as he worked around food.

But is that his fault? He helped when he could, even though it could have gotten him in trouble. When faced with that horrific pink potion that allows the people of the Capitol to be sick, so that they can keep eating, he is appalled. You can see that Peeta is just as committed to equality as Katniss. He just happens to be in love with her. But I think that Peeta and Katniss together makes more sense. In that small, yet powerful, moment between Katniss and Peeta I found a bit of myself.

Why should we allow others to have such power over who we are? If we are going to live, then we should live our life being our true selves, always. Peeta is one of the most admirable characters in The Hunger Games. He is just so selfless, kind, and loyal to everyone he comes in contact with. And no one in this arena was a victor by chance… Except maybe Peeta.

About Peeta. Being truly, deep down better than the rest of us. Peeta was always better than everyone because he had a good heart. Then, he comes back as a different Peeta, but that good heart of his allows him to become more strong and brave than he was when we first met him.

But if you kill him, Katniss, all those deaths, they mean something. The male tribute from District 12, Peeta is in love with Katniss and becomes her main ally and romantic interest during the Games. Peeta is best characterized by his love for Katniss and willingness to sacrifice himself for her.

During the Games, he is similarly selfless when he saves Katniss after she comes back to retrieve the bow but finds herself suddenly stunned by the tracker jacker stings. To allow Katniss to escape, Peeta fights Cato, the most deadly of the other tributes, and suffers a serious injury as a result. Indeed, in much of the Western world, taller-woman couples are far less common than statistics would predict in random pairings. For comparison, an at-random pairing of females and males would have produced a female-taller-than-male combo once in every 29 couples.

Often, the anxiety over female-taller relationships spills over into portrayals of heterosexual couples in movies and TV—and sometimes it results in some creative optical-illusion work intended to make male stars appear taller than their female costars.
